Ahrens Antics-How appropriate

Good grief! Trying to get a vaccine for Kristen to start 7th grade is like finding a needle in a haystack. I hate not being at an AF assignment. Dahlgren doesn't have Kristen's information because it's at Eglin. So they want me to go to Andrews (which doesn't have her in the system because Eglin hasn't input her.) Regardless, I wouldn't drive two hours each way for one shot. So I'm trying to go through the boys doctor now. I'm waiting to hear back.

She just needs one stupid shot. If she doesn't get it while with me she'll miss the first morning of school. Because Shaun is going to leave on the morning of the 13th to go see his grandmother. Drive two days (one each way) just to visit for two days. Ridiculous. And he's not willing to leave late on the 13th to get her shot so not to miss school. Drives me nuts.

David is still sick but slowly feeling better. He still has no idea what's wrong (bad cough and sore throat) other than pink eye. Which the doctor's sent him back to work. Now kids get pink eye and it's stay away, but David is told to wash his hands and use purell as much as possible.

Ryan's pink eye is now gone but he had a bad reaction to his medicine for the ear infection. It's just been one thing after another and I am so over it.

Another Abnormal Pap Result

Ok, this is a little bit personal but I'm so tired of these coming back abnormal after I give birth!

The same thing happened after I had JT and I had to have the coloposcopy. Two actually because the first result of that one came back abnormal too! Then I have to have a pap done every 6 months until I get two normal readings. Good grief!

So, the doctor himself calls me this morning and tells me I need to have another procedure done. That the results show possible lesions on my cervix. And oh by the way, we can't do them. You have to go back to the gyno's office in F'Burg to have it done. So I have to wait for TriCare to approve it and make the appointment. Well I decided to go ahead and call because who knows how long the wait will be. They can get me in Aug 1! But they have to examine me and order the procedure. Luckily I just have to bring copies of my records and show them. But it means another appointment and driving out there and waiting that much longer for OK results!!

So, I am honestly not worried since this happened after JT. Having babies must be doing a number on me! Glad we are done having children! I'll update when I have news to pass along.

Mourning the loss of a friend

I just got a call from my friend Angie that a classmate and friend was shot to death today. Tony was just the nicest guy. He was always friendly in High School. Everyone's friend. Then I knew his wife and kids from church. Although we didn't hang out he was still a friend. My ex, Shaun is really good friends with his brother and step-father. So we were always around his family. Last I heard he was working for Okaloosa Gas but it turns out he became a cop. He was 2 days shy of his 3rd anniversary.

Just makes you remember how quickly life can be taken from you. We take so much for granted. Who knows if we have a tomorrow. Be sure to tell those you love how much you love and appreciate them.

Here's the link incase you're interested. It's the top story. Especially since the area doesn't lose cops in the line of duty. It's very sad. I'm surprised how much this is affecting me. Tears are just flowing and I haven't seen or talked to him in over 5 years!

Ryan Pictures

The boys are finally feeling better. Not 100% but definately better. We got to sleep through the night last night (with JT) and Ryan just woke once! David is sick and went to sick call this morning. They don't know what's wrong and did a lot of test. Hopefully we'll know soon. He was sent back to work.

Took Ryan to get his pictures on Sunday. Usually the entire family goes but with David and JT sick I was off on my own. It actually was the best sitting I have had. I think not having to deal with JT running around helped. Plus I knew I had to deal with it. Ryan cried a little, but not too much. The girl was fun and patient with him. I just wanted to share a couple.

Again, we get family pictures in August. Once I have those then I'll send out all the photos at once in the mail to family and friends!

His hair looks really red but it's not. It's more blonde. I had to use gel to keep it from spiking up in the back! He's just so darn cute!

Boys are sick

Goodness! Ryan has been constipated for over a week now. I have tried everything. Apples, prunes, fresh fruit, juice, even supositories. Nothing is working. He has had no diet change so I don't get why this is happening. He tries and tried and still nothing happens.

JT is on day three with a fever. This morning it comes with his tummy hurting and some "wet farts" as JT calls them. So, of course my doctor is out of town this week on vacation. So I have to hope to get into the backup all the way in Fredericksburg. I hate going out there. But I'll do what I have to for my boys. With it being a weekend, I don't want to go to the ER. I was hoping JT was (is) a viurs and would just need to take it's course. But now, I want to be sure.

So, I'll be getting both boys checked out today. Hopefully, David will be able to get off and help me out. JT is a big time "Daddy's boy" and that's who he wants when he is sick these days. My little Ryan still wants his mommy though!

I'll update when I know more.

Ok, took the boys. Spoke to a nurse on the phone and she got all the information to forward to the doctors office. The receptionist called me and made an appointment for 10 am. I was very impressed so far. I got ahold of David and he wanted to go too. We all got ready and went to the office. We fill out some paperwork and get right in. The NP comes in and it all went down from there. She spoke very loud and fast. She rushed through all the questions and gave each boy a fast look over. She said JT simply has a cold and it will need to run it's course. I told her I felt that was the case but was worried because of his recent ear infection. She said the ears were fine. Well good. Then with Ryan she said his diet is the issue. Well I guessed that too, but how do you force an infant to drink juice and eat food? I litterally have to force baby foods down his throat sometimes. Here I was thinking I was doing everything I could for him and she made me feel like it was all wrong and I am contributing to the constipation. Oh, and then that was the end of our visit. She gave me a list of foods to give Ryan (which I guess I will be forcing him to eat) and sent us out. We NEVER saw the doctor. David and I were very disappointed with the visit, but relieved that our boys are ok. I'll let our Dr. know about our visit once she returns on Monday. Off to grocery shop now for fruits and veggies!

Lots to Share

To get things started, Kristen got a haircut. She wanted it super short! She likes it but wishes it was more angled in the front. I told her she should have said something and I would've had the lady cut it more...it's still cute as can be and super easy for her to manage...wash and go!

Next we just have some super cute pics of Ryan playing outside with a bat! He loves any bat and just beats it against the ground! Careful, he'll get you too! Then he got into his toy box! So funny because I didn't see it happen, just turned around and there he was having fun!

JT has swimming lessons each Saturday morning from 10:10 to 10:40! He has some good times and some bad times. But every Saturday he looks forward to going! He does much better when his sister is there to watch!

After swimming lessons it was time for Kristen's Birthday gathering. Not really a party, she has made two friends here! Then our friends Roger and Theresa with their daughter Corrine came as well! She got lots of loot, a Jordin Sparks CD, her Hawaii scrapbook was updated by her Aunt Angie and a girls inspirations book she begged for! I know she'll care less about it within days! She had a good time though.

Finally we were off to Busch Gardens for our Summer trip and Kristen's BIG BD Gift! We had a lot of fun. I was really worried the boys would get crabby, but they did great. It was really hot but they took it better than the adults!

So that catches us up now! I'll upload ALL the pictures to snapfish and share at the end of the month. Kristen leaves on Thursday for New York for 10 days. She'll be back on the 26th. I'm not looking forward to her being gone. JT will be a mess! He doesn't like it when sister is gone. Ok, until later...

Poor Ryan

What a day my boy had. Ryan has been constipated for a few days, both boys actually. Today was no better. He gets all red faced and grunts and pushes and nothing. So tonight after dinner I went to get him a supository (sp?) He so did not like it. Plus David, Kristen and JT didn't help. The kids were asking what are you doing to him! And David, just held his legs up for me, he refused to put it in. After a few tries it went in and started working. Ryan was crying and moving around. We walked him and held him and within a few minutes, he was red faced and grunting and pushing and wha-la...poopie! It wasn't much but it was a bit softer than the others that he has managed to get out the past two days. He went to bed and is sleeping like an angel. Tomorrow we' re going for prune juice! We'll try mixing it with some apple too. He's started taking juice now because he loves his brother's sippy cups! So he thinks he's getting away with something, but nope, Mommy made it just for him! Sorry for the poop story but we have little ones and this is what happens at 10 months!

But the worse thing of all was his fall today. I am waiting for all these bruises to go away so we can get pictures and he has the biggest fall of all. I have been waiting for this to happen and sure enough, today it did. He fell down the stairs. We heard thump, thump, and CRY! I picked him up and held him. Nothing broken and as much as I hate his crying I was glad to hear it. Silence would have been...well I don't want to think about that. I pick him up, run to the kitchen and start rinsing his mouth because he's got blood coming out. Well to my surprise that calmed him right down. He liked it. I looked him over and he has rug burns on his belly and neck but no bruises. At least not that I can see. I'll be checking over again tomorrow. I put him down because he was all wormy in my arms and where does he go, right back to the stairs! That's my boy! Well, I made him cry again, but this time because I put the gate up. Which will now stay up unless someone is willing to follow him like a hawk! I can't stand the thought of that happening again. Once was enough with JT and Ryan has had his one fall!!

Tomorrow is Kristen's 12th birthday! I can't believe it's been that long. We'll have her girlfriends over and grill some burgers and dogs. Then Sunday we are off to Busch Gardens. More on that after it all happens.

Spoiled Rotten

I have the greatest husband on earth! We're looking at getting a part-time maid!! Yeah! I know it's over the top and I am a SAHM, but my goodness, cleaning a house is never ending! Plus, I just want the downstairs done and the two bathrooms upstairs. Her rates are really reasonable so I am excited! I'm calling this my Christmas present! And his too, because he does the bathrooms and we have 3 to manage! Anyways, she comes on Saturday for a walk through! She even does baseboards! I think it's meant to be because her day available is Tuesday mornings and it's when JT is at school and Ryan is most likely asleep!! I'll update as it happens. Whoo Hoo! I'm so excited.

Ryan Climbs Up

Here is Ryan climbing the stairs while daddy vacuums! We have to put the gate up now otherwise he's always up to the top before we realize he was even near the stairs!

JT's Birthday

Here is a quick video of JT jumping in his bouncy house on his birthday, June 17. Enjoy!

Photo Contest

Just wanted to thank everyone for voting for our kids in the photo contest. Kristen won with no problems!! JT's group was extremely close but he came in 4th and Ryan had no chance with so many contestants in his category! But my kids are all winners in my book!

We'll be getting family pictures in August with Christi and we're looking forward to it. I just hope that Ryan stops falling and getting bruises on his face! We still have to get his 9 month pictures done, uh 10 months now! Once we get all the pictures done I'll be mailing them out. We have school pictures of Kristen and JT right now, but want to wait to save on stamps and supplies!
